PRESENTATIONS BY LOIS SZYMANSKI:
Lois Szymanski has spoken at hundreds of schools, libraries, reading clubs, and writer's meetings. She says she can't help but get fired up when she sees a child or future writer inspired.
Author presentations start at $400 plus travel expenses for up to five talks in one day, but talk to Lois if you can't afford that fee. She is willing to adapt fees when needed. Call 443-293-7811 or email LoisSzymanski@hotmail.com to let her know what you can afford.
A typical talk is 40 to 45 minutes in length, followed by a question and answer session. Most schools have one talk for each grade level, combining Kindergarten and 1st grade. Autographing may follow, if the venue would like. Topics for schools include; The Life of a Writer; Chincoteague Ponies in the Wetlands; Researching History; or a combination of topics. Talks can be adjusted to fit your school's needs.
Inspirational talks for churches and clubs as well as presentations about the wild ponies of Assateague Island to civic groups are also available.
Lois also teaches occasional writing classes at Carroll Community College and also enjoys doing talks and presentations at writer's workshops and conferences.
If you are interested in booking a talk or presentation for your school or group, please email or call. A brochure will be sent upon request.

HERE'S WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
"Lois is a talented storyteller and leaves the audience wanting to hear ‘just one more story’. The way she weaves educational facts with delightful island-pony stories is mesmerizing. It’s obvious that her passion for writing is matched only by her passion for child literacy and for the ponies."
–Dr. Amanda Stewart, Bethany College Equine Director, Bethany College sponsored program, WV
"We were very excited to have Lois speak at our library. The program was enjoyed by kids and adults alike. She is a very talented and inspirational author and speaker. Our patrons have been speaking nonstop about her visit and have requested that we have her back in the future."
- Kim Harless, Director of Educational Programs, Brooke County Library, WV
"You made a positive, lasting impression on my students and teachers!”
-Annette Bailey, Media Specialist, Manchester Elementary School, MD
“I've received lots of positive feedback about your visit. It was so exciting for our kids to meet a working author.”
Kristy Fanning, Media Specialist, Cranberry Station Elementary School, MD
"Lois has the unique ability to inspire writers and readers alike. Her presentation was sparkling and memorable. Months later our writer's group is still talking about her creative approach to writer's block and using resources for inspiration. I highly recommend her as a speaker for adults and children."
-Alisa Piotrowski, former Vice President of The Maryland Writer's Association -Carroll County Chapter, MD
Lois constantly delivers when she stops by our library. Her presentations are filled with great stories that connect with everyone in the audience. But most of all, she brings a passion that inspires everybody to get in touch with their creative side. Patrons always want to know when we are bringing Lois back to our branch. We hope she will be returning to our library for years to come!
Darrell Robertson, Library Associate CCPL, Finksburg, MD branch, MD
Lois’ storytelling about her real life experiences with the wild ponies captivated both students and teachers. Her story idea folder motivated our aspiring writers!
Sharon Sansoti, Librarian, St. James Academy, MD
I'm glad she told us anyone can be a writer. I'm filling up my idea folder so I can write about robots and mysteries.
Student, Max Schultz (3rd Grade)
All those horse stories were real! I didn't know I liked horses until she told me about them.
Student Alex Schultz (1st Grade)
